If you haven’t already guessed by the title of this article, then let me officially say, Learnerbly has raised $10 Million in Series A funding! To say we’re excited would be an understatement.

Not only is this an exciting milestone for us as a business but it is an exciting opportunity to further develop our product, grow our team and make a greater impact on the world of L&D.

What you need to know about our Series A funding

2021 has been a big year for Learnerbly. We completely rebranded, grew to 60+ people and of course, have secured $10 Million in Series A funding.

This funding is paramount to helping us achieve our mission: to be the most inspiring learning platform around the world, helping everyone unlock their full potential.

And it’s come at the perfect time. Our CEO and Founder, Rajeeb Dey MBE said:

An increasingly competitive hiring market and the rise of the ‘great resignation’ mean employers worldwide are concerned about how they recruit and retain top talent. The focus on learning and development (L&D) has, therefore, never been greater.
And yet, many HR teams struggle to keep up with the breadth of content and pace of change required for L&D in the digital economy. At Learnerbly, we tackle these challenges head on.

So it’s clear that companies need to be offering their people genuine development opportunities. Not only is there a war for talent but the digital and hybrid work world is ever-changing, placing new demands and requiring new skills. Our Series A means we can do more to help organisations give their people the best development opportunities and compete in their industries.

What will this funding do?

We don’t want to reveal too much of our magic but broadly speaking our Series A funding will go towards:

Developing our product

We want to continue to inspire learners, create sparks of inspiration and make L&D easier and more impactful for organisations. By investing in our product development we will be able to meet more of our clients’ needs and deliver a better experience to our users globally.

For learners, we look to improve access to learning resources and better guide them to the most relevant content. For admins of the platform, we will improve core aspects of functionality such as integration support.

Accelerating our expansion into the US

We’ve mentioned before that we have our eyes set on going global. The US already represents approximately 20% of our revenue without any proactive sales and marketing. We’re excited to build on this and expand our offering specifically to meet the needs of our burgeoning base of US clients.

Our Series A funding will enable us to accelerate our growth and bring our novel approach to workplace learning to support employers in cultivating a culture of learning and supporting their upskilling efforts globally.

Growing our team of 60+ Learnerbees

To empower more learners and to support the learning cultures of more organisations, we will need more hands on deck. We plan to hire across all of our teams, especially engineering, product, and design.

Who invested?

This investment was led by Beringea, the transatlantic venture capital firm alongside other new investors including Digital Horizon Ventures, BY Venture Partners, GO Ventures, and prolific marketplace venture fund FJ Labs, and existing investors such as Frontline Ventures, Triple Point, London Co-Investment Fund and UFI Ventures.

We’ve also secured the backing of influential angel investors including Zach Coelius (Coelius Capital), Leonard Picardo (second employee at Deliveroo), Neil Ryland (CRO of Peakon), Renaud Visage (Co-Founder and CTO of Eventbrite), and Stephan Thoma (former Global Head of Learning at Google).

It’s all because of you

We couldn’t have gotten to this point without our clients, our users, or our partners. It’s their collective belief that learning should be lifelong and that workplace learning should be democratised and personalised ensuring employees can learn what they need to learn based on how they like to learn which has allowed us to do what we do. We couldn’t be more thankful for their contribution to our mission.

Thank you for following along or joining us on this journey. We can’t wait to show you all the exciting things we have in store for you.
